About
Home > AboutSibling Sexual Abuse is one of the most common and hidden forms of childhood sexual abuse. More than 1/3 of sexual harm to children is caused by other children. This is estimated to affect 1.3 million children in the UK alone and impact 1 in 5 families.
Sibling Sexual Abuse Project
In February 2022 the light was shone on this hidden taboo. The National Sibling Sexual Abuse Conference for frontline sectors, was the first national conference on sibling sexual abuse in the U.K. It was organised by the SARSAS and the RCEW National Project on Sibling Sexual Abuse. What We Do
At present there is very little resources in the public domain and access to support services appear to be limited or hidden under different organisations. The vision of SSARC (sibling sexual abuse resource centre) is to centralise that information so those that need support, intervention and education around SSA can access it with ease. The more awareness created, the greater the possibility of prevention.
We work collaboratively with those with lived experience and proffessionals in the field to create bespoke workshops that offer a holistic
approach to healing and support.
We offer Psychoeducational workshops and Counselling for parents, resources for everyone impacted, referral pathways to other organisations that can offer support, Awareness/ Information sessions and bespoke training for proffessionals that support families, children and adult survivors.
